Retail4Dynamics (Point of Sale) is a cash-desk solution fully integrated into Microsoft Dynamics™ , which can be used in an On-Line and/or in an Off-Line environment. The Microsoft Dynamics™  existing functionality is extended to include functions to serve the daily routines at the cash desk. The goal for the development of Retail4Dynamics was to maintain the ease of use, transparency, simplicity, flexibility, integration and speed of Microsoft Dynamics™ .

POS Set-Up

The Retail4Dynamics set-up ensures optimal tuning of all functionality at the cash desk and the settings of general ledger accounts for special transactions.

Peripherals, as slip printers, customer displays, and multiple cash drawers per terminal are defined and configured here. These devices can be used together with the built-in driver technology, using OPOS or with installed Windows drivers.

POS Functions

The cash register operation is extremely simple and intuitive. It is quickly understood even by not untrained personnel. Many peripherals are supported: Touch screen, Barcode Scanner, Programmable Keyboards, Magnetic-Stripe Reader, Fingerprint-Reader, Scales1), Credit Card Terminals1), ATM’s1), as well standard keyboard and mouse.

The specific developed Serial Spooler supports printers at their highest speed, thus reducing any delays for the cash desk operation.

A wide range of different tender types and multiple currencies are accepted for a single POS transaction and assigned to the corresponding accounts. Expected rounding differences caused by the significance of foreign currencies are handled by the system and an additional posting to balance the transaction in G/L is generated by the system.

Besides anonymous sales, existing customers can be selected for a POS transaction. In case a customer is selected the system checks the credit limit, displays the customer comment, and uses stored special prices or discounts for the specific customer.

Functions within the POS system which request higher responsibility (e.g. price overwrite) can be preserved for cash register operators with special permissions.

Every POS document is stored individually and can be viewed or reprinted months or years later.

The off-line functionality can be used as a backup strategy for on-line operation during a breakdown of communication lines (e.g. a remote branch with a leased line).
